This coffee is a very special one to us. The Montero family farms are among the most premier specialty coffee farms in Tarrazú, which in-turn is the considered the premier coffee growing region of Costa Rica. We were lucky enough to visit their farm in 2017 and when we met Carlos, we had one of those "small world" moments, realizing we'd lived for a long time in the same town in New Jersey. Being able to now have a direct-trade relationship with the Montero family is one of our proudest coffee achievements. Recently, Carlos' son Jacob took an interest in anaerobic fermentation, and his experiments have gone very well, as you can taste for yourself in this cup.
