This coffee is a special one for us. A few years ago we were lucky enough to travel to Costa Rica with Nordic Approach to take part in a producer/roaster forum. While there, we visited several amazing farms and micro-mills, one of which was the Montero family's Don Eli. The mill was founded by the talented and extremely welcoming Carlos Montero, and is managed by him and his equally talented family. After speaking with Carlos for a while, we eventually realized that he had lived in the United States for several years in the town that we grew up in - working at a local restaurant that we frequented - in order to make money to buy the farm at which we were staying. We're so happy to have some of his coffee here in Brooklyn and hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
